For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:12-15 ESV
And what I do I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
1 John 4:1-6 ESV
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.
Deuteronomy 18:20-22 ESV

You need not be afraid of him.

Jeremiah 14:14 ESV

Jeremiah 23:14 ESV

Micah 3:11 ESV
hopefully!
Televangelists that are in it for the money, your money, often use the term "sow a seed" for a harvest of money for yourself. They sometimes say that if your need is great then you need to sow an even bigger seed, into their ministry, of course. But the seed that Jesus talks about, in Matthew 13 is about sowing the Word of God into people, so to be exhorted to sow into their get rich scheme is an distortion, an abomination.
Whilst these preachers have their supporters it is the view of others that the obscene amounts of money that they make, from what was not only freely given by Jesus Christ, but came at great personal suffering upon the cross to Him, puts more people off Christianity, than turns them towards it. The get rich prosperity gospel is not of God, Jesus Christ came as the Servant King, and teaches us to be sacrificial servants to one another, not to get rich off the poor and needy.
"Its heads give judgment for a bribe; its priests teach for a price; its prophets practice divination for money; yet they lean on the Lord and say, “Is not the Lord in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us.” Micah 3:11 ESV
TD Jakes, Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis, Benny Hinn, Andy Stanley, Rick Warren, Stephen Furtick, are all multi-millionaires who have made their money selling the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and there are many others like them around the world. Many have said that they aren't even Christians, are only scammers, but only God knows the heart.
